Partner Engagement Dashboards

Track how your partners interact with your partner portal to understand engagement patterns, identify top-performing content, and measure partner activity levels.

What You'll Learn

  • How to access and navigate the Engagement dashboard

  • Understanding the key engagement metrics

  • Using filters to analyze specific partners or time periods

  • Interpreting the engagement data to improve partner relationships

Prerequisites

  • You must have an Admin or Partner Admin account

  • Your company must have an active partner portal with partners who have access

  • Partners must be using the portal for engagement data to appear

Accessing the Engagement Dashboard

The Engagement dashboard provides insights into how your partners interact with your partner portal, including resources they view, time spent, and overall activity levels.

Step 1: Navigate to the Dashboard

Click on Dashboard in the main navigation menu. By default, you'll see the Revenue & Leads view.

Step 2: Switch to Engagement View

At the top of the dashboard, you'll see a view toggle with two options:

  • Revenue & Leads - Shows revenue metrics, deal pipeline, and lead conversion data

  • Engagement - Shows partner portal activity and content performance

Click on Engagement to switch to the engagement analytics view.

Understanding Engagement Metrics

The Engagement dashboard displays five key performance indicators (KPIs) at the top of the page:

Unique Users

The total number of individual partners who visited your portal during the selected time period. This helps you understand how many of your partners are actively engaging with your content.

Sessions

The total number of portal visits. A single user may have multiple sessions if they visit the portal on different occasions. Sessions automatically end after 30 minutes of inactivity or 4 hours of continuous use.

Page Views

The total number of pages viewed across all sessions. Higher page view counts indicate partners are exploring more of your portal content.

Actions

The total number of tracked interactions within the portal. This includes:

  • Playing videos (YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, or uploaded videos)

  • Downloading files and documents

  • Clicking on links

  • Viewing images in full size

  • Opening PDFs in new tabs

  • Viewing deals, leads, or collaboration cards

  • Completing goals

  • Using search features

Average Duration

The average time partners spend per session on your portal. Longer session durations typically indicate more engaged partners who find value in your content.

Engagement Timeline Chart

Below the KPI cards, you'll find the Engagement Timeline chart. This visualization shows how engagement metrics trend over time.

Reading the Chart

The chart displays three data series:

  • Sessions (purple line) - Number of portal visits over time

  • Page Views (blue line) - Number of pages viewed over time

  • Unique Users (dark line) - Number of distinct visitors over time

The chart uses two Y-axes:

  • Left axis: Sessions and Page Views

  • Right axis: Unique Users

Time Periods

The chart automatically adjusts its time buckets based on your selected date range:

  • Less than 14 days: Daily data points

  • 14-60 days: Weekly data points

  • More than 60 days: Monthly data points

Hover over any data point to see the exact values for that period.

Top Content Analysis

The Top Content panel shows which resources and rooms are most popular with your partners.

Top Resources Tab

Displays your most-viewed resources ranked by view count. For each resource, you can see:

  • Views - Total number of times the resource was viewed

  • Unique Users - Number of different partners who viewed it

Click on any resource to navigate directly to that resource's detail page.

Top Rooms Tab

Shows which portal rooms receive the most traffic. Each room displays:

  • Views - Total page views for that room

  • Unique Users - Number of different partners who visited

Use this information to understand which sections of your portal are most valuable to partners.

Partner Leaderboard

The Partner Leaderboard table shows engagement metrics broken down by individual partner. This helps you identify your most engaged partners and those who may need more attention.

Leaderboard Columns

  • Sessions (40%)

  • Unique Users (30%)

  • Page Views (20%)

Pagination

If you have many partners, use the pagination controls at the bottom of the table to navigate through the list.

The footer row shows aggregate totals across all partners:

  • Average Duration (across all partners)

Using Filters

Filters help you analyze specific segments of your partner engagement data.

At the top of the dashboard, toggle between:

Best Practices

Review the Engagement dashboard regularly (weekly or monthly) to identify trends:

  • Increasing engagement: Your content strategy is working

  • Declining engagement: May indicate partners need fresh content or attention

  • Seasonal patterns: Plan content releases around high-engagement periods

Identify At-Risk Partners

Partners with low or declining engagement may need proactive outreach. Look for:

  • Partners with zero sessions in the past 30 days

  • Partners with declining session durations

  • Partners who visit but don't interact (low action counts)

Optimize Your Content

Use the Top Content analysis to guide content decisions:

  • High-performing resources: Create more similar content

  • Underperforming content: Consider updating or promoting it

  • Popular rooms: Ensure these sections stay current and valuable

Compare Partner Segments

Use the partner type filter to compare engagement between:

  • Referral vs. reseller partners

  • Newly onboarded vs. established partners

  • High-performing vs. average partners

Common Issues

No Engagement Data Showing

Problem: The dashboard shows no data or "No engagement data" messages.

Solution:

  • Verify that partners have access to your portal

  • Ensure partners have actually logged into the portal

  • Check that you haven't applied filters that exclude all data

  • Allow 24 hours for new portal activity to appear in analytics

Engagement Numbers Seem Low

Problem: The engagement metrics appear lower than expected.

Solution:

  • Review your partner communication - are partners aware of the portal?

  • Check the selected date range - try expanding it

  • Verify portal access permissions for all partners

  • Consider sending portal announcement emails to drive traffic

Chart Shows Unexpected Gaps

Problem: The timeline chart has periods with no data.

Solution:

  • This is normal if there was no portal activity during those periods

  • Check if the date range includes holidays or vacation periods

  • Verify the partner type filter isn't excluding active partners
