Creating a Project
Creating a Project
Projects in Journeybee are collaborative workspaces where you and your partners can work together on tasks, share files, and track progress. Projects use Kanban boards with cards that can be moved between stages.
Where to find it: Click Projects in the main navigation. Requires the Projects module to be enabled.
Boards and stages
A project board is a Kanban board with columns called stages. Each stage has a label and a phase. The available phases are: Backlog, Planned, In Progress, In Review, On Hold, Completed, and Cancelled.
You can create multiple boards and switch between them. Each board has its own set of stages and cards.
Managing stages
Use the context menu on each stage to:
Edit the stage label.
Change the stage colour.
Set the phase.
Move the stage left or right.
Hide or show the column.
Delete the stage (only if it has no cards).
Creating a card
Click New project to create a card on a board. You can also create cards from templates if you have saved any.
Card details
When you open a card, the sidebar shows five tabs:
Description: A rich text editor with real-time collaboration. Multiple people can edit the description at the same time. Includes formatting options like headings, lists, tables, and code blocks. You can also use Ask AI to help write content.
Tasks: A checklist of tasks that can be completed and tracked.
Comments: Comments with @mentions for team communication.
Attachments: Upload files to the card.
Engagement: View engagement analytics for this card.
Card fields
Title: The card name (editable).
Stage: The current stage on the board.
Tags: Add tags to organise cards.
Assignees: Assign team members to the card.
Partners: Link the card to a partnership.
Filtering and views
Use the views and filters to find cards:
All: Show all cards.
My projects: Show only cards assigned to you.
Filter by assigned, unassigned, stages, tags, or partners.
Search by card title.
Real-time collaboration
Projects support real-time collaboration. When multiple people are editing a card description at the same time, everyone sees the changes instantly. Card updates (title changes, stage moves, assignee changes) also appear in real time for everyone viewing the board.
Templates
You can save a card as a template for reuse. When creating a new card, choose Create from template to start from a saved template. Templates include the card description, tasks, and settings.
