Co-selling
Co-selling lets a deal have one primary partner plus one or more supporting partners. The primary partner brings the deal and always keeps full credit. Supporting partners, for example an implementation partner or an influencer, are attached to the same deal so they can see it, work on it and be reported on, without taking credit away from the primary partner.
Where to find it: Turn it on under Settings, then Platform Modules. Set up labels and roles under Settings, then Categories & Tiers, on the Co-selling roles tab. Add supporting partners from a deal.
Who can use this: Admins turn it on and set up roles. Any team member can add and remove supporting partners on a deal.
Turn on Co-selling
Go to Settings, then Platform Modules.
Switch on Co-selling and click Save. It needs Deals to be on.
Turning it off again hides supporting partners on deals and removes their portal access straight away. The attachments are kept, so turning it back on restores them. See Platform Modules.
Name the two sides and set up roles
Go to Settings, then Categories & Tiers, and open the Co-selling roles tab. Pick the partner type if you have more than one.
Under Partner labels, optionally rename Primary partner label and Supporting partner label. Leave them empty to keep Primary and Supporting.
Under Supporting partner roles, click Add supporting role for each role, for example Implementation or Influencer.
Under Primary partner roles, click Add primary role for each role, for example Sourced or Sourced + Co-sold.
Roles are optional. See Categories & Tiers for the limits.
Add supporting partners to a deal
You can add them when you create the deal, or later.
When creating a deal: in the Create New Deal panel, use Supporting partners to pick partners and, if you have supporting roles, a role for each. See Creating Deals.
On an existing deal:
Open the deal and go to the Associated tab.
In the Partners section, use Add partner to pick a partner.
To give the partner a role, click the pencil on its row and choose one.
To remove a supporting partner, click the remove button on its row.
To set the primary partner's role, click the pencil on the primary partner's row. It appears once you have set up primary roles. If nobody picks one, the deal shows the first active primary role for that partner type, or the primary label if there are none.
Rules
A deal can have up to 20 supporting partners.
Supporting partners must be the same partner type as the deal's partner.
Distributors cannot be supporting partners.
The deal needs a primary partner before you can add supporting partners.
What supporting partners see and get
The deal appears in their Deals room in the partner portal. They can work on it much like the primary partner: stage (where stage editing is allowed for their partnership), details, tags, custom fields, products, notes, tasks and partner contacts.
They never see the lead behind the deal, the quote, or any payments and commission.
On the deal's Associated tab they see the primary partner and the supporting partners with their roles. They cannot change them.
They receive the deal's notification emails, sent to their own contacts. See Notifications.
Removing a partner from the deal, or turning Co-selling off, ends its access straight away.
Find co-sold deals
Deals page: open the filter list (the funnel button) and choose Co-sold (deals with at least one supporting partner) or Not co-sold. See Lead and Deal Management.
Reports: the Co-selling switch (All, Co-sold, Not co-sold) narrows the whole Revenue and Leads view, and your choice is kept when you save a view. See Revenue and Leads Analytics.
Reporting
The primary partner always keeps full credit. Supporting-partner figures are a separate measure and are never added into revenue, pipeline or deal counts, so your company totals do not change.
Reports leaderboard: a Co-sold revenue column (part of the partner's revenue, not used for ranking) plus supporting deals and supporting won columns, named after your supporting label.
Partner analytics: three optional figures, Sourced vs co-sold, Deals the partner supports for other partners and Figures by role (own and supported deals), shown to partners on a Co-selling tab. They appear automatically on the Overview room. In a custom room's Analytics block you switch them on in the Co-selling group, since they are off by default. They are not available for distributors. See Portal Room Types and Custom Portal Rooms.
Sync with Salesforce
If you use Salesforce, a Co-selling Partners section in the Salesforce settings keeps a deal's supporting partners in step with the Opportunity's partners, both ways, including their roles. See Salesforce Integration.
Troubleshooting
I cannot add a partner to a deal
Problem: You see a message such as "Supporting partners must be the same partner type as the deal's partner", "Distributors can't be added as supporting partners", "This partner is already the deal's primary partner" or "A deal can have at most 20 supporting partners".
Solution: Pick a partner of the same type as the deal's partner who is not already its primary partner, remove one supporting partner if the deal is at 20, and use a referral or reseller partner rather than a distributor.
I cannot pick a role
Problem: The role you want is not in the list, or no list appears.
Solution: Add the role on the Co-selling roles tab under Categories & Tiers, for the deal's partner type. A role that was deleted can no longer be picked for new deals, although deals that already had it keep it.
I do not see the Co-selling filter
Problem: The Co-selling switch in Reports, or Co-sold in the Deals filter, is missing.
Solution: Check Co-selling is on under Platform Modules. In Reports the switch is only on the Revenue and Leads view.
Goals disappeared from Reports
Problem: Goals are not shown.
Solution: Goals are hidden while the Co-selling switch is set to Co-sold or Not co-sold. Set it to All.
A partner cannot see a deal it supports
Problem: The partner says the deal is not in its portal.
Solution: Check the partner is still attached to the deal, Co-selling is on, and the partner's Deals room is live and available to it. See Portal Access Management.
Good to know
The primary partner always keeps full credit. Co-selling never moves revenue between partners.
A deal counts as co-sold when it has at least one supporting partner. A lead counts as co-sold when it has a co-sold deal.
Roles are labels for your own reporting. They do not change commission.
