Quotes on Leads and Deals

Quotes on Leads and Deals

A quote turns a pricing calculator into a priced proposal attached to a lead or deal. When a quote is attached to a deal, the deal value is set from the quote automatically. You can also download a branded quote PDF to send to the customer.

Where to find it: Open any lead or deal and go to the Quote tab. This requires the Products module to be enabled.

Creating a quote

  1. Open a lead or deal and go to the Quote tab.

  2. Click Create Quote.

  3. Choose a calculator under Select Calculator.

  4. Fill in the calculator fields and toggle any optional add-ons. If the calculator allows it, pick a billing period.

  5. Click Create Quote to attach it.

The attached quote shows a summary at the top, with the fields still editable below so you can adjust and re-save it.

Editing and removing a quote

  • Change any field or option and click Update Quote to recalculate and save.

  • Click Delete Quote to remove the quote entirely.

If the calculator behind a quote is later changed or removed, the quote becomes read-only and is marked View Only. When a calculator has changed, a "Calculator modified" notice lets you create a fresh quote from the latest version.

How adjustments appear on a quote

A quote's discounts, taxes, and surcharges come from the rules built into the calculator — there is no separate step to add an adjustment on the quote itself. One-off rules appear as a single charge or discount, while recurring rules appear in the quote's recurring total. To change how a quote is priced, edit the calculator's rules (see Building Pricing Calculators).

Quotes and deal values

When a quote is attached to a deal, the deal value is set from the quote total and locked against manual edits. Any change you make to the quote updates the deal value automatically, so the deal always reflects the current quote.

On a lead or deal, a quote and directly-added products are mutually exclusive. If products are already attached, you will see Remove products before creating a quote and the create button is disabled until you remove them — and the same applies the other way around.

Downloading a quote PDF

From an attached quote you can generate a branded PDF to send to the customer. Use Preview Quote PDF to check it, or Download Quote PDF to save it.

  • Branding: Add your company logo and, where relevant, the partner's logo. You can position a single logo and choose whether branding appears on the first page only or on every page.

  • Line items: Products are listed in alphabetical order with their quantities and prices.

  • Adjustments: Each discount, tax, or surcharge row includes a short explanation and the calculation behind it.

  • Recurring charges: Recurring items and adjustments are shown in a separate recurring total section.

  • Billing period: Amounts reflect the quote's billing period, shown as /mo, /qtr, or /yr.

Quotes from the partner portal

Partners can also generate quotes themselves from a Pricing Calculator block in a portal room. Depending on how the block is set up, a partner can preview pricing, submit a lead with the selected products, or submit a lead with a full quote attached.

Good to know

  • A deal's value is locked while a quote is attached — edit the quote to change it, not the deal value field.

  • A quote and directly-added products can't exist together on the same lead or deal — remove one before adding the other.

  • If a calculator changes after a quote is created, the quote becomes View Only. Create a new quote to pick up the latest pricing.

  • Quote PDF amounts follow the quote's billing period, so recurring pricing shows per month, quarter, or year.

  • Building Pricing Calculators: Build the calculator that a quote is generated from.

  • Products: Create and manage the products that appear on your quotes.

  • Lead and Deal Management: Work with the leads and deals your quotes are attached to.
